A young priest is ordered to preside over the wake of a witch in a small, old wooden church in a remote village. He must spend three nights alone with the witch, with only his faith and some chalk, to protect himself.
Maenad presents this special release of the 1967 Russian Film adaption of Nikolai Gogol´s Ukrainian folklore horror masterpiece Viy aka Spirit of Evil. This was the first, and for a long time, the only full length feature horror film made in the Soviet Union.
